Sample) ist eine Teilmenge einer -> Grundgesamtheit, sie ist also die Auswahl der untersuchten Einheiten aus der Grundgesamtheit. Man unterscheidet Zufallsstichproben (Random-Stichprobe) und die mittels systematischer Verfahren, also bewusster Auswahl generierte Stichproben. W\u00e4hrend Auswahlverfahren, die nicht auf dem Zufall beruhen, beispielsweise bei qualitativen Studien eingesetzt werden, basiert die Reichweitenforschung in der Regel auf Zufallsstichproben.
