Das CIC ist mehr als ein Call Center und dient in erster Linie als Filter und Verteilstation von eingehenden Anfragen. Je nach Ausbaustufe kann ein CIC auch den zentralen Verkauf, die Angebotserstellung und die Auftrags- Bestellannahme beinhalten. Hier spricht man dann auch von Tele Sales, der sowohl inbound als auch outbound agiert. CIC integrieren Kundenservice, Support, Beschwerdemanagement, Outbound-Sales, Marketingaktivit\u00e4ten und Vertriebssteuerung. Im Falle von telefonischem Service wird auch der Begriff Help Desk verwendet.    auch     Kommunikationsstelle zur Kundenbetreuung und \u2013gewinnung, die als zentrale Anlaufstelle f\u00fcr Kunden dient. Diese k\u00f6nnen mit dem Unternehmen \u00fcber verschiedene Kommunikationskan\u00e4le wie Telefon, E-Mail, Internet oder Fax in Kontakt treten. Die jeweiligen Anfragen werden durch eigenst\u00e4ndige Systeme bearbeitet.
